Mens 1st vs Marden Russets – 30th Nov 13

Old Bordenian 1st X1 1 – 2 Marden Russets 1st XI

Old Bordenians looked to cement themselves at the top of the table last weekend however Marden had other ideas. The game started strongly with both sides sharing possession and making chances. OBs had chances but failed to finish. 0-0 at half time, it was obvious that the first to score would take control and Marden did. OBs reacted and stepped up the pressure with some probing attacks , sound defence and excellent goalkeeping by Sunjit Atwal. They create chances however OBs still struggled to capitalise. It was turning out to be one of those games. Finally though, OBs won a penalty corner and Mark Forshaw converted. Game on! Despite numerous attempts on goal, and Marden down to 9 at one point, the second goal just could not be found. However, Marden managed to find the net with ten minutes to go from a forward solo effort. Bordenians still remain solidly in the top half of the table and look to make up ground this Saturday vs BBHC at home 13:30 start. Check out for more club information.
