M6s vs Cliftonville – 14th Dec 13

Old Bordenian 2 – 4 Cliftonville

The OB’s 6th team struggled to scale the dizzy performance heights of last week, with passing and movement at times fragmented. Despite their failings, they managed to rip through the Cliftonville defence on numerous occasions, with Paul Clunn proving to be a thorn in the visitors’ side and Bordenians really should have opened their account as TerryBollard, Dave Meaning and Clunn all missed chances. Instead they found themselves a goal down as the visitors’ attacks started to gather momentum. However, an excellent move of quick tempo passing hockey saw Rory Bollard set up Clunn to score with a smart finish. Cliftonville struck again before the break, when they converted a penalty flick, following a goal line foot stoppage.
