M1 v Folkestone – 6th October 2018

Folkestone 1st X1 – 0
Old Bordenian 1st X1 – 2
Old Bordenians travelled to Folkestone on Saturday knowing that a tough test would await them. The early encounters were cagey with neither side making any clear cut chances but with Old Boys dominating the play. Folkestone struggled to break down a determined OBHC defence and although Old Boys enjoyed lots of the ball the scoreline was level at 0-0 at the break.

Old Boys went after Folkestone in the second half and pressed with even higher intensity than in the previous 35 minutes. This resulted in sustained pressure and an opening goal as Sam Lund found a diving Chris Piesley at the back post. Old Boys continued to press hard and were 2-0 up when Richard Cooper flew in at the back post to divert the ball goalwards after a hit from Tom Richford. OBHC held firm even when down to 10 men and deserved their 2-0 win which leaves them top after week 2.
