M3 v Burnt Ash – 10th November 2018

Old Bordenian 3rd X1 – 1

Burnt Ash – 0

With the first game against the team which had been promoted with them, the Old Boys knew this would be a competitive game. From the start it was obvious both teams were battling hard to reverse a string of bad results. It was clear they were both of a similar standard with the ball being played around and both teams battling to regain some form of control when needed.
With the normal passion restored to the half-time talk, it appeared that the Old Boys were able to start pushing harder for the win. With all of the team in the opposition’s half pressing for that chance to get a goal, with a deft pass into the top of the D Richard Phillips picked up the ball and got a shot on target which slipped past the keeper, giving the home side the lead. With ten minutes left of the game it was time to lock down the ball and exert control of the game. With great relief the old boys heard the final whistle, knowing that they had got a hard won win ending the four weeks without one. They are now looking forward to the next game away against K-Sports, which promises to be another hard game.
