Old Bordenians won the local derby match against Gore Court. In similar league positions, the game was always going to be close.

OBs started on the front foot, creating early opportunities. OBs took the lead within five minutes: Josh Willis’ shot was saved by the keeper, only for the ball to fall at the forehand of David Wherrell to calmly finish from close range. Ten minutes later, Justin Hudson, taking an early free hit inside the 23 meter zone, found David Wherrell who controlled the ball with one touch around the defender and hit the ball on the reverse from the top of the D into the bottom corner. Josh Willis extended the Old Boys lead five minutes before the break. Justin Hudson delivered the ball into the D, Josh Willis led to the ball and deflected it neatly passed the ‘keeper. Gore Court countered in response but failed to make anything of their attacks.

Gore Court started the second half with ten men due to dissent, but Old Boys could not capitalise. The game was even for the majority of the second half with chances falling to both sides. Gore Court finished a penalty stroke and a solid strike in the final five minutes but Old Boys held onto the three points.
