L1 v Kings Alleyn – 1st December 2018

Old Boys Ladies 1st X1 – 2
Kings Alleyns Ladies 2nd X1 – 1

Old Boys Ladies went into the game needing a win. After a dogged performance last week without taking any points, it was vital to get something from this game against a team near OBs in the table. The first half provided the spectators with a lot of fast-paced hockey from both sides, OBs pressing the ball well and Kings Alleyns having good chances from breakaways. The first goal went to the away team with a well-worked break that they passed around the back line of OBs into the goal. With some brilliant saves in goal from Elizabeth Locke, earning her the Player of The Match, OBs stayed in the game and came up with an equaliser from a great short-corner that was scored with composure from the top of the d by Lesley Wilson. With only ten minutes left of the game, OBs really pushed themselves and showed determination to get more than a point from the game. Their efforts were rewarded when, with two minutes left, a ball into the D was finished brilliantly by Katie Lovelock giving OBs the win and three vital points.
