L1 v Folkestone – 16th March 2019

Old Bordenian Ladies 1st X1 – 4

Folkestone – 3

OBHC welcomed FOHC to what was a very close fought game. OBHC scored early on through some excellent team passing that Becky Elgar put in the back of the net. OBHC then absorbed pressure to fight off several FOHC chances. Despite this, OBHC managed to break away and win a penalty flick after the defender kicked the ball off the line.  The goal was never in doubt when Nicole Ward stepped up to take it and she calmly scored. OBHC switched off late on in the first half and conceded a goal going into the break. OBHC also seemed to start slowly conceding an equaliser, but this was the wake-up call they needed as Jenny Stephens stormed through the FOHC defence to set up Lesley Wilson who finished.
FOHC fought back after some poor OBHC defending, but OBHC did not lose their nerve and continued to fight for the win until the end. Their determination paid off and they won a PC in the last minutes of the game which Becky Elgar Calmly put away from the top.

A well earned win for OBHC ladies.
