L1 v Old Williamsonians – 12th October 2019

Old Williamsonians Ladies 1st XI – 1

Old Bordenians Ladies 1st XI – 3

This week the 1st team were away to Old Williamsonians and were hoping to improve on recent results. The game started well with some great team play and passing moves, which were rewarded with Old Boys’ first goal from Zoe Golding after a rebound off the keeper. OWs scored just before half time when a penalty flick was awarded, to make it 1-1.

OBs began the second half positively, with some great runs by Ash Ortega on the left. Charlotte Corney made a brilliant run down the right, hitting the ball towards the goal, which was deflected in by the opposition making it 2-1. OBs stayed strong in defence and marked tightly. A move through midfield gave Rachel Thompson the chance to hit the ball hard towards goal, which was then deflected in past the keeper by Claire Hales. A well-deserved win by OBs. Final score 3-1 to Old Boys. Ash Ortega was the player of the match.
