M2 v Burnt Ash – 26th October 2019

Old Bordenian 2nd X1 – 1

Burnt Ash 2nd X1 – 4

OB men’s 2nd XI carried on their Kent division 1 league campaign against Burnt Ash 2nd XI in what turned out to be a disappointing loss for the Old Boys.

Bords started the first half well with early pressure on the Burnt Ash D but were unable to find the back of the net. With a hard working defence, Burnt Ash managed to find a quick ball to their forward who found himself 1-on-1 with the Old Boys’ keeper and scored the first goal.

Old Boys came back at Burnt Ash straightaway with the midfield pair of Jacob Burch and James Henley dictating the pace of the game. Old Boys forced several short corners which produced some great saves from the Burnt Ash keeper.

Bords started the second half well with the front three of Chris Piesley, Sammzi Bahwary and Dan Gunner winning short corners. But the Burnt Ash defence worked hard and with another ball out to their striker they found the second goal. Old Boys bounced straight back again and Justin Hudson scored from a short corner to bring the score to 2-1.

Old boys pushed on to find more goals but eventually a few defensive errors from Old boys gave Burnt Ash the last two goals of the game and the final score was 4-1.
