We were first accredited in 2004, at which time we were the third club in Kent, and the fourteenth in England, to receive this accreditation, when it was first introduced by Sport England and England Hockey.

Our current accreditation is the fourth we have achieved which will require re-application in about 4 years.

All clubs achieving ClubsFirst also achieve the Sport England Clubmark accreditation, a nationally recognised award for sports clubs.

Clubs with the ClubsFirst award are recognised as providing a safe, effective and child- friendly hockey environment.

ClubsFirst is aligned with the Sport England Clubmark accreditation, recognised nationally by NGBs, local government, education and the sporting industry. In its simplest terms, the process will ensure that the club has a safe, effective and child-friendly environment.

The accreditation process is very rigorous with clubs having to provide to England Hockey evidence that they provide this safe, effective and child-friendly environment, within which young people have the opportunity to learn, participate and thrive within the sport of hockey. It is an assurance for parents/guardians that their children are well cared for by the club.

Below is a list of documents which we require to show our commitment to ensuring compliance with the above and safety at all times;
