M1 v Sevenoaks – 25th March 2017

Old Bordenian 1st X1 – 5
Sevenoaks – 2
Old Bordenian Men’s 1st XI had their last home game of the season against youthful Sevenoaks side and as always were excellently supported by club members on the side-lines. The spectators were able to watch some exciting hockey as Old Boys were determined to uphold their unbeaten home record. Keeping pressure on the Sevenoaks side and passing the ball around, Old Boys opened the scoring through leading scorer Sam Lund. Continuing to press, OBs scored three goals in as many minutes from Lund and two for Michael Neame to take a 4-0 half-time lead. The second half was scrappy as OBs lost some discipline and both sides scored a goal each. A comfortable 5-1 victory and an unbeaten home record for the season is an excellent achievement and reward for the hard work and improved team performances under the coaching of Huw Stevens. With the last game of the season against Holcombe to come, there is still an outside chance of promotion.
